I have a regular visitor but not a permanent settler to my house a part of my life, my “mimma”, almost one-year-old cute cat.

Let me first tell you that “mimma” is my pet cum street cat who comes to our house to eat, sleep and take head massages and then goes out to hunt.

God created an environment with various creatures and we can learn a lot from a lot of creatures all around.

There are a lot of things cats are perfect in which we can apply to our life. I have noticed these 6 things in which cats are experts.

FOCUS AND HIGH AIM

Cats being hunters have such nice focus. They jump huge heights and aim difficult targets without hesitation.

Once mimma came home and suddenly started waving his tale and ran towards pots in my balcony, he was trying to catch a lizard which was behind the pot, I wondered how much effort he had put to get that, and get it at the end.

It made me think that how easily I get demotivated and stressed when I try to get something so hard but do not succeed. Mimma’s activities are a motivation to me. I feel like if that cute little creature can put all the effort into its goal, Why can’t I.

Energy saver

Cats sleep a lot and save a lot of energy to hunt. Mimma sometimes sleeps like, for 12 hours continuously so that he could hunt at night.

This behavior makes me think about saving my energy and using it to do some productive things.

I know I can’t just sleep like mimma as it would be a time waste but the idea to save energy can be fulfilled in some other ways. I have made a list of distractions and unproductive activities which nowadays, (especially in this pandemic) have become a habit. And I am trying to avoid all of these from my routine.

As cats save their energy through sleeping most of the time, we can save our time by checking unnecessary YouTube videos, social media, and watching tv-shows and dramas. I have minimized watching tv nowadays just to save my energy and utilize it in my studies.

Clever and smart

Cats are very clever. They recognize things fast and also memorize them. Mimma knows where the food is. When he gets hungry he ran to the room where the food has been kept. He also meows to show his extreme hunger.

Enjoying one’s own company

Cats enjoy alone, they don’t need anyone to spend their time with. Mimma plays alone with a ball, sometimes rolling its back on the sand, jumping, and running all around in the house.

Cleanliness

These beautiful creatures have the habit to clean their body through licking. Mimma licks his paws rubs it on its face just after waking up, this is a kind of face washing. Lick’s paws after eating and playing. In this pandemic where we have to wash our hands a lot of times, Mimma is an example to teach how much cleaning your hands is important. (Caution, don’t lick your hands as a cleaning method.😅😁🐈)

Showing love to one’s who love you

Mimma shows his love by waving his tail, putting his head in our legs, meowing, asking for massage etc.

He shows gratitude towards his human friends. But showing gratitude is now occasional in our life.

These were the 6 basic habits of cats that are beneficial if we follow them. We can learn a lot from these tiny, cute little creatures and a lot more through a lot more creatures all over this world. Inspiration is everywhere, we just need to see that through our eyes.
